Citizen's Forum

How to Participate in the Citizen’s Forum

The Citizen's Forum is provided so individuals may make a comment, statement, question or proposal to the Chisago County Board of Commissioners. Comments, statements, questions or proposals shall be directed to the Board as a whole, and not to individual commissioners or the audience. Individuals are asked to conduct themselves in a profession, courteous manner, and refrain from the use of profanity. Failure to abide by this policy may results in the loss of your privilege to speak.

Citizens may participate in the Board meetings in one of two ways:

  1. All citizens are welcome to submit a ‘Citizen Forum’ comment, statement, question or proposal using our Citizen Forum Online Form, send thru the U.S. Post Office, or email to the County Administrator. Letters will be accepted up until two (2) hours before the Board meeting time. Commissioners may choose to the letter before the Board and the public for up to three (3) minutes. The letters will not become a part of the formal record, as is consistent with County precedent. Send your comment, statement, question or proposal to County Administrator Chase Burnham using our Citizen Forum Online Form, send thru the U.S. Post Office, or Email Chase Burnham.
  2. Individuals wishing to participate in Citizen's Forum in-person may sign up via a sign-in sheet, and they will be asked to speak at the microphone for up to three (3) minutes during the Citizen's Forum portion of the meeting. The microphone is positioned in the middle of the County Boardroom.
