About the Program
Adopt-A-Trail is a sponsorship program providing members/sponsors, who are at least 18 years old or work with a consenting/responsible adult at all times, an opportunity to help keep Chisago County Trails looking clean for all residents and visitors. Members are expected to hike their adopted trail at least four (4) times a year during the months of April, June, August and October as well as after storm events and fill/submit a report identifying: trail use observations, trail condition, hazards (down trees or erosion), signage issues, observations, and other observations or concerns. Members are expected to pick up trash along the trail or report larger debris items for removal. Members commit to maintaining/monitoring their designated section for a minimum of 2 years / maximum of 5 years at the discretion of the Chisago County Parks Department Adopt-A-Trail Program. Members will be provided trash bags upon request and will need to provide proof of liability insurance.
A minimum 2-year commitment requires a $250 non-refundable payment per year for each Trail Segment Adoption Sponsorship Payable by January 31 of each subsequent year.
There will be a recognition sign installed on all adopted segments of Adopt-A-Trail on the Sunrise Prairie Regional Trail and the Swedish Immigrant Regional Trail.
