The Recorder’s Office is tasked with keeping permanent real estate records for all properties located in Chisago County, including deeds, mortgages, contracts, and agreements. Documents submitted for recording must meet minimum standards or requirements, as prescribed by Minnesota statute.  Before accepting documents for recording, our staff will verify that these requirements have been met.

Another important function of the Recorder’s Office is to preserve and issue certified copies of birth and death records, marriage records, notary and ordination filings, as well as military discharge documents.
