Channel & Weir Maintenance Reports

One of the goals of the Lake Improvement District is to maintain the ditch and weir system in order to control water levels during high water events. The Chisago Lakes Outlet Project, a series of channels and weirs, was undertaken in 1986 to provide an outlet from Chisago Lake to Green Lake, and from Green Lake to the Sunrise River. In addition, the channel from Chisago Lake to Wallmark Lake was improved.

The purpose of the project was to alleviate extremely high lake levels. Prior to the project, Green Lake was landlocked and the Chisago, North and South Center, North and South Lindstrom Lakes were virtually landlocked.
