Probationary Period
All new employees are required to serve a probationary period. The purpose of the probationary period is to determine whether or not the new employee has the job skills necessary to be successful in their position with Chisago County.
The probationary period is normally 6 months for the hire date and may be extended at the discretion of the employer. However, there are some positions that required a 1 year probationary period.
Holidays
Eleven holidays are observed by Chisago County employees. Part-time employees receive holiday pay at a pre-determined pro-rated amount depending on their full-time equivalency.
Vacation
Chisago County has a progressive vacation accrual program and increases based upon complete years of service with the county. Vacation accrual begins at 3.1 hour per pay period (26 pay periods in a year), which equates to 10 days of vacation in the 1st year of employment. Observed Holiday Schedule
Sick Leave
Employees accrue sick leave on a per pay period basis. The accrual for sick leave is 3.7 hours or 4 hours per pay period. Depending on bargaining unit.
Pay Dates
Chisago County employees are paid on a biweekly schedule. Pay dates are every other Friday. We offer a voluntary direct deposit program.
