Public Works BuildingResponsibilities

Chisago County Public Works is responsible for the planning, design, construction, and maintenance of roads, bridges, and traffic control devices on the County's highway system. The Highway Department also provides for the overall management, direction, coordination, and budgeting for approximately 327 miles of County highways. The department also seeks and implements federal and state funding assistance for eligible projects as well as pursues cooperative projects while partnering with contractors, utility companies and various governmental units. Setting efficient construction schedules is a primary goal of the department.
