Board of Commissioners
Citizen appointments to advisory committees are made by the County Board of Commissioners. Membership requirements vary, and in general, terms are for 2 - 4 years. Most committees meet once a month. Committee vacancies are advertised at various times throughout the year, with board appointments made shortly after each closing date.
Purpose of the Committee
The purpose of an advisory committee is to bring the community perspective, provide advice, and make recommendations to the County Board of Commissioners on issues presented to the committee by the responsible department.
