1. What does Probation do?

Our department is responsible for supervising compliance with the court's sentencing order. We supply information, referrals, assistance and supervision, so that clients can successfully meet their probation conditions. We also notify the court of any non-compliance through violation reports.

2. Where are you located?

We are located in the lower level of the Chisago County Government Center in Center City, MN in Suite 100 (which previously housed the Sheriff’s Office).

3. Who is my Probation Officer?

If you are an adult sentenced for a misdemeanor or gross misdemeanor offense, please call 651-213-8350.

If you are an adult sentenced for a felony offense, please contact the Department of Corrections at 651-539-1234.

If you are an adult subject to pre-trial/pre-sentence conditional release for any level of offense, please call 651-213-8350

If you are a juvenile placed on supervision for any level of offense, please call 651-213-8350.

4. What is the Local Correctional Fee? Why do I need to pay it?

This fee is charged to persons under the supervision of our agency to help defray costs associated with monitoring / supervising your file.

5. Can I pay my Probation Fees with a credit card, debit card or electronic check?

Yes, as of February 22, 2016 Chisago County began accepting payments for Probation Fees by credit card, debit card or electronic check for the following fees:
- Chemical Use Assessment Fee
- COG Skills Fee
- Domestic Abuse Investigation Fee
- Driving With Care Fee
- Intensive Supervision Fee
- Local Correctional Fee
- Pre Trial Fee
- Testing Fee
- UA Confirmation Fee

Note: A 2.5% ($2.00 minimum) fee will be assessed for online payments. Also, you must enter your case number EXACTLY as it appears on your documents.

You have the option of using the online link below for credit card, debit card or electronic check payments or you can also make a payment in person at our office with a credit card or debit card.

6. When paying Probation Fees, can I make a partial payment?

Yes, Chisago County Probation does accept partial payments to go towards your fee(s). Payments can be made in person (cash, check, money order/cashier's check or credit/debit card), via mail (check or money order/cashier's check), or via online (credit/debit card or electronic check.

7. Can I pay my Probation Program Fees over the phone?

No, Chisago County Probation does not accept payments over the phone. Payments can be made in person (cash, check, money order/cashier's check or credit/debit card), via mail (check or money order/cashier's check), or via online payment (credit/debit card or electronic check).

8. Do I need to submit a separate payment if I'm paying on more than one Probation Fee online or in person with a credit/debit card?

No, you can add payments to different fees on the same transaction when paying with a credit/debit card. You have the ability to add multiple payments to your purchase.

9. If I owe more than one Probation Fee, can I write one check?

Yes, you may write one check for the total amount of the fees that you owe.

Court Services cannot change your court date for you. You must contact Court Administration at 651-213-7010.
